Graphic overlays and labels can be attached to many different surfaces including aluminum, plastics, painted or powder coated metal, stainless steel or printed circuit boards. Typically these are attached using a pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive (PSA). When used in conjunction with our unique face-milled sub-panels (see machining) an edge-flush construction can be realized to help enhance the appearance. This also protects the graphics in abusive or harsh environments. Usually applied with a pressure sensitive adhesive, overlays can incorporate windows, selective texturing, embossing, and cut outs. Standard finishes include anti-glare (low gloss), gloss, brushed and velvet, with velvet being the most popular to hide fingerprints. Windows can be added and are available with gloss, antiglare or diffused windows. These windows can also be tinted with transparent inks such as dead front black, LED red, and smoke. When windows need to be thick to protect displays in a harsh environment, a separate machined or laser-cut lens can be added to create a thick durable window. |
